What is Wellness?
Everyone strives for wellness!
Wellness is the process of becoming aware of your state of mind, your state of body and making your life fulfilled. It is the process of understanding what you need in your life on a multi-level basis. Wellness consists of everything that constitutes a human being. It has to do with the person's mental as well as the physical health. Ancient Greeks had an adage that says "νους υγιής εν σώματι υγιεί" (nous igiis en somati igii) which really means that one needs not only a healthy body and a healthy mind but a constant striving. Mental health, therefore, is an integral and essential component of health. Wellness for humans is definitely a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not just the absence of psychological diseases.
What constitutes wellness?
When we look at what constitutes wellness and happiness we see that it includes what we are feeling, our physical condition, our social conditions, our work environment, our family environment, our surroundings, our spiritual growth as well as our intellectual growth; all these factors contribute to feeling happy and being a productive human being. Each of the above is equally vital in the pursuit of optimum well-being. You can reach wellness by knowing how to optimize and maintain each part that constitutes happiness and wellness. It is definitely not a straight forward and easy process. A professional can guide you to the right path and work together to achieve growth and wellness.
How to achieve wellness?
In order to achieve wellness one needs to achieve physical as well as mental health and social improvement. Being mentally or emotionally healthy is much more than being free of any disorders or issues. It is the mental and emotional growth that is referring to the presence of positive characteristics. Mental health is about how we think, feel and act as we cope with our lives. Our mental health also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others and make choices in general. Like physical health, mental health is important at every stage of life but it is also important in order to take charge of your one’s life. Therefore, wellness which is the result of being free of physical and mental illnesses is a dynamic process of change and growth.
Why wellness is so important?
Does wellness really matter? For many wellness matters since everything we do every action we take and every emotion we feel relates and equates to our well-being. On the other hand, our well-being directly affects our emotions and actions. It is definitely an ongoing circle and chain that is linked. Therefore, it's obvious that everyone needs to achieve optimal wellness in order to overcome stress, reduce the risk of illness and ensure positive living as well as growth.

It's a fact that our actions and emotions are affected when we don’t regulate our wellbeing; in order to ensure positive living we need this. Again, we will manage this journey so that you will be able to control your actions and emotions resulting in your growth. This process is dynamic and it promotes well being as well as growth. All people need growth as a part of living healthy and acquiring happiness. People who do not proceed and work towards their well being will in turn become sick. When we as individuals don’t harvest and carter to our wellness, some level will be affected. In case a child or teenager would like or need to start online sessions with me, his/her parent or guardian should be able to provide a written statement stating that he/she is aware of that and allows his/her minor son or daughter to be in online sessions.
